VTXFLOW manufactures strainers in ASTM A351 CF8M (316) — a molybdenum-bearing austenitic stainless steel that resists chlorides, organic acids and marine atmospheres. With a working range of -196°C to +538°C, CF8M bodies suit chemical & petrochemical processing and seawater & desalination across Class 150 to 2500 service.
CF8M is the workhorse stainless grade for corrosive duty. The 2–3% molybdenum addition gives it pitting resistance that plain CF8 lacks, and it stays impact-tough from cryogenic temperatures up to 538°C. Specify it wherever chlorides, acids or product purity are in play — the 60–100% premium over WCB buys corrosion life, not strength.
Every CF8M strainer is cast or forged in-house, machined on CNC centers and 100% shell and seat tested to API 598 / ISO 5208 before shipment, with EN 10204 3.1 material certificates traceable to the heat. PMI verification is available on request for stainless and alloy grades.
